Never Sleep Studios was founded in 2021 by Jalen Robinson.

 

Jalen Robinson is a writer, director, and cinematographer from Chicago, Illinois, now based in Los Angeles, California.

As a graduate of Arizona State University’s Sidney Poitier New American Film School, Jalen holds a bachelor’s degree in Film & Media Production.

Jalen’s storytelling foundation began in high school, where he gravitated toward documentary filmmaking. Deeply influenced by gonzo journalism, cinéma vérité, and observational cinematography, Jalen's work blurs the line between reality and narrative. Whether capturing real life subjects or staging scripted scenes with documentary-like intimacy, his films are driven by a commitment to authenticity and bold visual experimentation.
